CHURCH BLESSING
The celebrations continued on 20th July with a deeply moving church blessing at the first hare statue, a moment that brought together villagers in quiet reflection and shared joy. The blessing was led by Reverend Canon Kate, whose warm and thoughtful words honoured the spirit of the trail and the community it represents. As the congregation gathered around the statue, the familiar and uplifting hymn All Things Bright and Beautiful echoed through the air, creating a truly special and unifying moment.
Following the blessing, the group made their way to St Andrew’s Church for a special service that celebrated not only the launch of the Heritage Trail but also the values of community, remembrance, and stewardship of our local environment. The service included readings, prayers, and music that reflected the themes of nature, heritage, and togetherness—reminding us all of the importance of preserving our past while nurturing the future.
The day was a beautiful blend of reverence and celebration, and it added a spiritual depth to the week’s events that many found both comforting and inspiring.
