The black and white photograph captures the Middleton Hall Garden Fete, featuring Dr. Clemants and Mrs. Clemants along with their team of helpers who managed the stalls at the event. The fete was held to support the new village hall and is dated July 13th, 1935, marking the first effort to provide Middleton on the Wolds with a Village Hall.

The image is a flyer for the Middleton-on-the-Wolds Women’s Institute Produce Show held on Saturday, July 19th, 1952, in the Village Hall. The event was to be opened by Miss M. Macfarlane and included various recipes and rules for participation. This flyer provides a glimpse into the community activities and traditions of Middleton on the Wolds during the mid-20th century.

We hope to add more to the website in this area.
