LAUNCH EVENTS JULY 2025

Thank You for a Wonderful Heritage Trail Launch!

We are thrilled to share our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us on 19th July 2025 for the official launch of the Heritage Hare Trail, a special project dedicated to the memory of Geoff Wishers. Over 60 people gathered to mark this meaningful occasion, and the sense of community spirit was truly inspiring.

The event was proudly launched by Mike Kelly, former Chairman of the Parish Council, and Elizabeth Naylor, Chairwoman of the Green Group Committee. A particularly moving moment was when Geoff Wishers’ wife unveiled the beautiful statue and commemorative plaques, honouring Geoff’s legacy and his contributions to the village.

Following the dedication, guests enjoyed an afternoon of refreshments, trail exploration, and family-friendly activities in the village hall, including hare modelling and colouring-in sessions that brought smiles to children and adults alike.

The celebrations continued on 20th July with a touching church blessing at the first hare statue, led by Reverend Canon Kate. The congregation joined in singing All Things Bright and Beautiful before making their way to St Andrew’s Church for a special service.

To round off the week, we hosted a Lego Club, again in the village hall on Wednesday, where local children and parents came together to build creative windmill designs. Prizes were awarded for the most imaginative creations, making it a joyful and memorable finale to our launch week.

We are incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together. The Heritage Trail is not just a tribute to the past, but a celebration of our vibrant, supportive village community. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this vision to life — your enthusiasm, time, and support made it all possible.
